Goodbye SonyLIV, Hello Netflix: WWE's New Home in India

There have been significant developments regarding WWE's presence in India. Starting April 2025, WWE's broadcasting rights in India will transition from Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) to Netflix. This change is part of a substantial $5 billion, 10-year global agreement between WWE and Netflix.

This shift means that Indian WWE fans will need a Netflix subscription to watch their favorite programs, including Raw, SmackDown, and major pay-per-view events like WrestleMania. Previously, WWE content was accessible through SPNI channels and the SonyLIV streaming service. The move to Netflix reflects WWE's strategy to tap into streaming-first audiences in a price-sensitive market.

This transition marks Netflix's entry into the Indian sports entertainment market, aiming to reach WWE's extensive fan base in the country. The current deal with SPNI is set to expire in March 2025, concluding a partnership that has lasted over two decades.

For fans, this change signifies a shift in how WWE content will be consumed in India, aligning with global trends towards digital streaming platforms. It's advisable for viewers to stay updated on subscription details and any potential changes in content accessibility as the transition approaches.
